Hello...Just thought I would share...What a day on the water for me and my boys and good friend Tony Prokop. I had a cancellation for today's trip, so I took advantage of it and loaded up the boys and headed out around 4:30AM this morning from Victoria. We stopped and got breakfast and drove to Port O'Connor. We arrived at my boat slip at 5:40AM and met up with Tony, headed down to get us some croaker and off we went. At our very first stop, the action was on...Zach caught a nice 20" trout on his very first cast and Cade did too. From the first cast on, the day was full of action. Zach had his best day ever on the water...he caught his first full limit of trout all by himself (he actually caught a total of 12) and he caught his biggest trout ever which is now 21 1/2". Zach also caught 4 skip jacks and a 3 foot shark. Cade had a good day as well, but I have to say little brother whipped up on big brother. Zach had the hot hand and I let him reel in at least 7 or 8 of the ones I hooked as well. We ended up with a total of 40 trout and 1 redfish, but we should have had 3 reds, both boys had a redfish break off after fighting them for a long time. Zach kept saying, "Dad, this is my favorite spot" all day. We came in, cleaned fish, ate lunch at Cathy's Restaurant and headed home. We were only a couple of miles out of Port O'Connor and both of them were out cold until we arrived back in Victoria. There were tons of laughs and memories made.
