Well the 2008 Baffin Season has started out on fire. We have landed over 20 trout that measured from 28" to 30 3/4" in the first week. The heaviest fish so far was weighed at 9 1/4 lbs. We have been focusing on mud and grass shorelines during cooling trends and sand beds and grass during warming trends with great success for some very nice trout. All of the big trout we have caught have been released with an exception of one that went to the taxidermist. Looking ahead, I hope to see the success continue, but just like every year during the months of Feb and March you will have your tough days and the fishing can be slow due to cold fronts and/or high winds. The best baits have been 6" Gamblers and Bass Assassins in the colors of plum/white and red shad, and also corky's in the pearl/chartreuse back. Here's some of the pics and I will send some more soon.
FYI...I do have a cancellation on Feb 12th...If you are interested please call me on my cell ASAP to secure the date.
