Detail Fishing Reports by Capt. Chad Peterek
October 17, 2007 - Fish, Ducks and Fall is Here!

The season of Fall is here.  Each and every year as our fishing season comes to an end and duck season approaches, I get excited with each passing group of ducks that are settling into our area lakes and back bays to prepare for their winter home.  This is definitely happening right now...I am seeing many groups of ducks flying over us as we are fishing.  Mostly Teal and Pintails are what's in our area and that I am seeing pass by each day.  Fishing continues to be good to great on most days.  We are catching a few flounder, plenty of reds and the trout action is decent to super pending the weather.  Looking ahead we will be using more artificial baits from now on, but if you want live bait, believe it or not, it is still accessible.  The bait houses are still selling live croaker and live piggy perch as well as live shrimp.  So if you want to squeeze in on a fall fishing trip before mother nature lowers the temps, the choice of live bait or lures is up to you.  I have a few dates still open for fishing, then I will be switching over to chasing ducks.  Thanks!
