Sept. 10, 2007 - Summer Fishing Still Hot!
It's not too late to get in on some late summer action. Fishing in Port O'Connor has been great when wading the shorelines and reefs in Matagorda Bay. As far as boat fishing, it has been hit or miss. We have been doing well in the surf and some of our area reefs, but due to fresh water we have been limited to just a few areas to fish that still have saltwater when boat fishing. There's still plenty of live croaker and live piggy perch at the bait stands and should be through the end of Sept for sure. Looking ahead I will continue to fish with live or artificial bait focusing on our south and west shorelines of Matagorda Bay as well as the Islands close to POC.
